Terms of Service
Last updated July 22, 2026
These terms explain the ground rules for using MuniWatch, a MuniWatch LLC product. We've kept them as plain as we can.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of MuniWatch, a service operated by MuniWatch LLC ("MuniWatch", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using MuniWatch, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What MuniWatch does
MuniWatch monitors publicly available local-government meeting information — notices, agendas, and minutes — and delivers alerts and AI-generated summaries about the governing bodies you choose to follow.
MuniWatch is an informational tool, not legal, financial, or professional advice. AI summaries are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or contain errors. Always verify important details against the official government source before relying on them.
3. Open records request tool
MuniWatch offers a tool that helps you draft public-records (open-records) requests from the information you provide and general, state-specific templates. It is provided for your convenience and is not legal advice. Statutory citations, response deadlines, and language may be incomplete, may not fit your situation, and vary by jurisdiction — you are responsible for reviewing your request and for anything you choose to file with an agency.
A records request you submit to a government agency generally becomes a public record and may be disclosed to other people or organizations who request it. As described in our Privacy Policy, we store the requests you create in your account and may use the information you enter for internal research and analytics; we do not disclose or sell your personal information, or use it for marketing or promotion.
4. Your account
You are responsible for providing accurate information, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@muniwatch.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Subscriptions and billing
MuniWatch offers Basic and Premium subscription plans, billed monthly or annually. Billing begins when you subscribe. You can search for your jurisdiction and see which governing bodies and documents we track before you pay anything.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
Prices are shown before you subscribe and may change on a going-forward basis with reasonable notice. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe and billed by MuniWatch LLC; the name shown on your statement is displayed at checkout before you confirm. If you subscribe inside our iOS or Android app, Apple or Google processes and bills that purchase under their own terms, and you must manage or cancel it in the App Store or Google Play. Applicable taxes may be added where required.
Some accounts opened earlier began with a 7-day free trial. Those trials are honoured on their original terms until they end.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including by attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, scraping or bulk-extracting content, reselling the service, or using it to violate any law or the rights of others.
7. Accuracy and third-party sources
Meeting information comes from third-party government sources that we do not control. It may be delayed, incomplete, changed, or unavailable, and coverage varies by jurisdiction. We work to keep MuniWatch accurate and timely but do not guarantee it, and we are not responsible for decisions made based on the information provided. The official government record is always authoritative.
8. Intellectual property
MuniWatch, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by MuniWatch LLC and protected by applicable laws. Underlying government documents remain public records. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these terms.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MuniWatch LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using MuniWatch and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or to protect the service or other users.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of MuniWatch after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
