Why isn’t my city or county showing up?

Accepted Answer

We roll coverage out by population, largest places first. Every jurisdiction of 10,000+ people is already onboarded, and we’re actively working down through the smaller towns now — so a place under 10,000 may not be searchable yet. If yours isn’t there, it usually means it’s still in progress rather than unavailable. Search for it and, if it’s not live, leave your email and we’ll add it and let you know the moment it goes live.

Question 2

What do “Live”, “Building”, and “Blocked” mean?

Live — we’re tracking at least one governing body there, so you can search it and get alerts right now. Building — we don’t have it live yet but it’s in progress. Anything under 10,000 population still shows Building until we reach it. Blocked — the government’s website actively blocks automated access. We’re working on a way in, and you can leave your email to hear when we get through.

How do I request a city or body I can’t find?

Search for the place on the home page. If it’s not found, or not live yet, you’ll see a “Notify me” form — leave your email and we’ll go find it, add it, and email you the moment it’s available. Signed in, you can also request a specific governing body from the Library when you can’t find it there.

How often do you check for new documents?

Accepted Answer

Every night. Once a day we crawl the government sites we track, process any newly posted agendas, notices, and minutes, and send out alerts. So when something new is posted, you’ll typically hear about it the next morning — you never have to keep refreshing a government website yourself.

Why did an alert land in my spam folder, and how do I fix it?

MuniWatch alerts are sent as properly authenticated email (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC all aligned) with a plain-text version and a one-click unsubscribe link — everything mail providers look for. Occasionally a provider still files a new sender under spam at first. To fix it: open the alert, mark it “Not spam”, and add no-reply@muniwatch.app to your contacts. Future alerts will then land in your inbox.

How do I unsubscribe or change my alert frequency?

Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom that opts you out immediately — no login needed. To fine-tune rather than stop, open Account → Notifications and toggle the categories you want on or off.

Is the AI summary really worth it?

Accepted Answer

AI summaries are a Premium feature, and they’re the fastest way to know what a meeting actually means. Instead of opening a 60-page agenda packet, you get a plain-language summary of each agenda and set of minutes: what’s being decided, why it matters, and when you can comment. If you follow more than a body or two, that’s the difference between skimming a short summary and reading every document yourself. Basic plans get the alerts and documents; Premium adds the summaries and keyword alerts, and you can downgrade anytime.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Account → Delete account, in the app or on the web — no email required. You can also visit muniwatch.app/delete-account. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel that subscription in the store as well, since Apple and Google control those payments.
